These Opals are natural stones. Opal is a type of mineraloid known for its unique play-of-colour, which is a phenomenon caused by the interaction of light with tiny silica spheres within the stone. There are two main classes of opal: precious opal, which displays play-of-colour, and common opal, which does not. Precious opals are often found in colors like red, orange, and yellow. Opals needs to be cared for as they are a soft stone. Opals are living stones and can "drink" water. If your opal receives too much moisture (stored in water for example next to the sink or left on while swimming long periods) it can lose its luster. Do not fret, their luster will return if you let them dry out in the sun for a while.
